I received my Big Red Garden Tiller all crated up. It was the next weekend that I was able to uncrate it. Sure nuff, one tire was flat and off the rim. I tried airing it up myself but could not get it to take air. Took it off and took it to a tire repair shop. They got it aired up but it only held for 3 days. Tried again and it only held for 2 days. Tried to contact the 4 service centers in my area but they would not help me as they said Troy-Built would not pay them. Tried to email Troy-Built with no response. Finally I got them on the phone but they said it was past 30 days since I had placed the order and tires were a normal wear item so they would not guaranteed.

Also, the shift knob will not stay on.

I have now had it 2 months and it has never been in the ground. Really disapointing when they have had such a good reputation -- or is it just good hype! I would NOT recommend anything they sell.

I have owned several Troy Bilt tillers over the years. All of them have been good. I needed a larger one to tackle my 2 acre garden. Even though the Pony did well.
Big Red made short work of it. Now only use the Pony for touch up. Strongly recommend buying the hiller/furrower attachment because it will save you a lot of work.

Also bought the dozer blade attachment. It was a luxury I could have skipped. It's excellent for moving snow off of your sidewalk and driveways. It also did a pretty good job of moving large brush piles. Piles of sand bogged it down.

The cage around the engine is an engine saver especially if you hit a rock while tilling your garden next to a fence. Even used it to dig trenches for waterlines with the hiller attachment, small ditches around trees, and tow large logs to a brush pile. It also did a great job of cutting through the larger tree roots that I hit while tilling new areas.

I am very happy with this Tiller... Read more

Troy-Bilt, have been using them since 1973, have worn out two previous 8 hp Horse models. This is the first one since MTD took over. New one a lemon. Poorly assembled (loose nuts/bolts all over it), took it to garden after going over all nuts/bolts, fired it up, engaged tines and instant metal grinding noise from transmission. Into warranty shop with less that 5 min. on it. Depends on what shop says, you may be getting this one back.
